Taco Bell Restaurant Review Return to Restaurant Reviews
By LifeAdviceSite.com

Taco
Bell. Yum. When that bell rings in their commercial and encourages me
to think outside the bun, it's like a Pavlovian response. The dinging
of the bell alone makes me salivate. They're geniuses that make Mexican
style food tasty and palatable for those of us who can't quite handle
the real stuff loaded with onions, jalapeno and other strong flavors. I
call it Mexican food Americanized.
The crunch of the taco shell, the creamy texture of sour cream, the
sharpness of the cheddar cheese, and the slight spice of the seasoning
is enough to draw me back time after time. Everything is good at Taco
Bell. The tacos, the crunchwraps, the salads, and the burritos. It's
all tasty. It's affordable too!
Even though it's fast food, Taco Bell doesn't skimp on quality, either.
The food is always appealing and prepared well. I remember several
years back, during a "tomato crisis", many of the fast food restaurants
ceased using tomatoes because of their expense, but when I went to Taco
Bell and got 3 taco supremes, I was delighted to find that fresh diced
tomatoes had not disappeared from my meal.

Taco Bell, a subsidiary of Yum! Brands, prides itself on quality
ingredients. According to information on their website, in an average
year U.S. Taco Bell consumers, company and franchise restaurants consume:
- 3.8 billion corn and flour tortillas
- 62 million pounds of pinto beans
- 295 million pounds of seasoned ground beef
- 106 million pounds of cheese
Their taco meat is made from USDA-inspected beef and is subjected to
quality check points. Taco Bell also states that their taco meat is
leaner than typical restaurant-cooked hamburger because of the unique
way that they prepare the taco meat and remove fat.
For
me, life is about balance. 80% of the time I consume fresh foods
prepared by my own hands and my strict standards. I love to eat out
though, and do so at least once or twice a week. If meeting my mother
for a quick dinner or lunch, Taco Bell is where it's at for us. The
great thing about Taco Bell is that you can change it up whenever you
need to. Beef or chicken, rice and beans - it's all there for you no
matter what your needs are, and if you choose carefully, you can keep
your meal healthy and low in calories. The beans are never fried, so
they remain a healthy, viable choice. In addition, you can always order
a lower-fat alternative by specifying you would like your item prepared
“Fresco Style.” This means that sauce and cheese are substituted with a
salsa of tomatoes, diced white onions, and cilantro. A grilled steak
soft taco prepared "Fresco Style" has only 160 calories and 4.5 grams
of fat. A regular style taco stacks up with 170 calories and 10 grams
of fat. Not bad, just keep in mind the multiplication factor when
ordering in multiples.
