Apple-Pear-Berry Chutney Back to Recipes
By LifeAdviceSite.com
This goes great as a side dishes at holiday meals, but it can also be made throughout the year as a snack or a light desert.
In a large
saucepan over medium high heat, combine 1 and 1/2 cup of sugar, 1 cup
water, 2-3 cinnamon sticks (or 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon), and one
12-oz package of fresh cranberries.
Bring mixture to
a boil and then reduce heat to a simmer for 10-15 minutes. The
cranberries should pop. Add 3 peeled, coarsely chopped pears, 1-2
chopped and peeled apples, 1/2 cup golden raisins, and 3 tablespoons of
fresh lemon juice. Cook several minutes to soften fruit and remove from
heat.
This can be served either hot or cold. As an alternative, the raisins may be substituted for blueberries for even more color.
