Colon Cleanse Return to Health and Fitness

Have you been considering trying a colon cleanse product and you're wondering what it's really like? While there are many brands on the market which all claim to be the best choice, basically it boils down to a fiber mix with a collection of various herbs believed to help cleanse and purify the digestive tract.

We tested Dr. Natura's colon cleanse which came with a pro biotic supplement, fiber and a cleansing tea. Each morning required first downing 4 pro biotic capsules followed by a scoop of fiber. The tea was taken at night. It was recommended every night during the first few days and then as needed.

Most colon cleansing products claim you may see elimination of some very strange things that may have been stuck and/or living in the digestive system for years. We didn't notice anything excreted other than the food we ate, but that's just us.

The pros:

We found the process does indeed regulate the digestive system
The cleansing tea is gentle, effective and tastes great

The cons:

The fiber is very difficult to take. Because it thickens so quickly, we had to take it in small doses, adding extra water with each sip. The grittiness was not entirely enjoyable, either.
The process left us feeling bloated, and we actually gained a couple pounds while on the cleanse

While we liked that we were essentially scrubbing our insides down with fiber and herbs, we also thought we could likely get the same effects from some lesser priced store-bought herbs and fiber. We give high kudos to the Kleritea, however. Having tested some similar teas, Kleritea is the tastiest and most gentle version we have found thus far.

Cleansing is not for the weak of heart. It takes quite a bit of time and planning to carry it off. The cleansing tea and the fiber coupled with the amount of water required to make effective use of the product means you'd better not start a colon cleanse unless you are sure you'll have easy and ready access to the restroom at all times.
