The Best Date Return to Dating
By LifeAdviceSite.com
 |
Many
of us in the dating world struggle over choosing the best dating option
for those first few tedious dates with a potential love interest.
Often times those first dates shared with a relative stranger consist
of taking in a movie, a show or a concert.
While
these options can be entertaining and do remove much of the burden from
attempting to generate shy and uncertain conversation, they are also
ineffective at allowing us to begin the process of getting to know our
date to the fullest extent. We learn very little about each other
seated in a dark movie theater where the only sound permitted is the
crunching of popcorn and the slurping of soda.
|
So
we often choose the second stand-by and meet one another for dinner.
For those gregarious souls with hungry bellies, it is a fine option.
If you've ever sat across the dinner table from someone who did not
know how to hold up their end of the conversation or with whom you've
immediately found no attraction whatsoever, that simple dinner can
become both long and excruciating.
Fortunately
there is another often overlooked option which some consider to be the
absolute best option for a first date.
It's the walking date!
Seinfeld
was wise to it: the walking date places two people next to each other
and removes the requirement to make constant eye contact. Now, it's
true the eyes are the windows to the soul. You can learn a lot about a
person by looking them in the eye. But what if you're shy at first and
do not want to appear that you are purposely avoiding eye contact? Or, what if you are so attracted to someone you do not wish to give yourself away to soon? Have a walking date and remove all concern!
The walking date also allows plenty of time to speak to your date at
leisure about anything that comes to mind. Even if your mind lapses
for conversation, there is no need for panic because it feels
completely comfortable and natural to enjoy the momentary silence and
breathe in the nature around you. As an added bonus, if you choose a
walking destination with plenty of people and sights around you, you'll
have plenty of stimulus to make conversation about.
Plus, the walking date is the perfect
option for meeting those online dates or fix-ups you've never met in
person. Just pick a well populated area like the town promenade and
enjoy your walking date in total comfort and safety.
You can even tailor the walking date to
meet your individual needs. If you find you and your date are really
hitting it off, you can extend your walking date for as long as you
want and even segue into that aforementioned dinner. If you find you
and your date are just too different to jive long term, the two of you
can easily alter your course back to separate paths.
|
As
an added bonus - if you find you and your date are not a suitable
match, you have not wasted any of your time. At the very least, by
taking advantage of the wonderful walking date you have gotten in some
valuable and essential exercise! You can even schedule a walking date
in place of your usual workout at the gym.
The walking date: good for your heart in more ways than one!
